About P&C

Government schools (also known as public schools) are free to attend for Australian citizens and permanent residents. Many educational resources are not included in what we, as parents, might assume would or should be provided.

P&C associations exist to support schools and help bridge this gap.

They are not-for-profit associations, designed to provide resources for our children to help ensure they receive the best education possible, as well as strengthen the ties between the school and the wider community.

At Killarney Heights, the P&C is an integral part of the school, providing core services and activities for parents and kids.

This includes:

  • Deliver hot/cold healthy food options that meet the NSW Government’s “Green Tick”
    approval.
  • Managing the uniform shop including the in-person fitting service;
  • Funding the music programs and operating instrument hire services; and
  • Supporting the Environment Committee and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Any profits are re-invested directly into the school.

Current Priorities & Achievements over the years

Our main priority over the last few years has been raising funds to install air conditioning in every classroom.

Our new focus areas include:

  • upgrading our playgrounds;
  • increasing shade areas;
  • Environment;
  • Music; and
  • Purchasing more technology for our kids.
